Detailed Information: Q & A
What is your game’s primary source(s) of inspiration, and how is yours different?
To inspire/teach/educate practices of faith, and their relevance to everyday life choices through interactive game playing. Understanding how truth (in scripture) can set you free, but deception can lead you astray. Maybe answer the all-time question, "Why is this stuff important?" See for yourself, as you play.
What are the different narrative paths you plan on including? In other words, how will the game’s story change as we play?
In small sections of Ministry, choices take alternative paths to reaching the end. The path(s) is based on the choices the player makes (based off versus - given within the game). For this BETA, the game forces to one ending, but there are a few alternatives and a couple of game over dead ends (which should be fun).
What game scripting, if any, are you trying out? If you are, what is its purpose and/or function in the game? Please give examples of what you’re trying to accomplish.
A good method model would say, “All roads lead to Rome.” In other words, all choices lead to the same ending (In this BETA), but the path the player chooses determines the experience the player receives. A good example would be: The player is forced to choose sides. Which side they chose... they experience. In a longer version, the paths would be much longer, and there would be multiple endings for each path.
What do you want the player to walk away from this game with upon completion?
An understanding of how the Bible can be inspirational to the everyday choices we make. A more personal experience that anyone can enjoy in their spare time. A practice demonstrating the Bible or faith itself can be a video game (Experimental). Sure we all like monsters, but things like ARCHANGLES can be pretty bad a** as well. This inspiration could inspire creators to look to (other) sources for characters and storylines as well. It doesn’t all have to be dark, and good might not be as weak as some think. Ministry is actually quite challenging. This game might be tougher than the players assume. Who knows: Maybe they can respect that... maybe even learn something. ENJOY!
